Background
The UAE Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF), one of the Middle East's most strategic financial institutions, aimed to improve the scalability, performance, and security of its treasury and payment systems. Reliant on outdated on-prem infrastructure, the fund faced increasing maintenance overhead, lack of agility, and regulatory risks. AceNet was brought in to design and implement a robust migration to Microsoft Azure Cloud.
Approach
- Conducted a detailed current-state assessment of on-prem infrastructure, workloads, and data sensitivity
- Developed a custom Azure migration roadmap aligned to regulatory and business needs
- Built a pilot environment for non-critical systems to validate architecture and minimize risk
- Executed a phased migration, ensuring uninterrupted treasury operations during cutover
- Provided training, documentation, and post-go-live optimization support for internal teams
Results
- Zero-downtime migration of critical treasury systems
- Enhanced scalability and flexibility to support peak loads
- Improved security posture aligned with international standards
- Reduced operational costs via optimized resource allocation
- Increased stakeholder confidence through performance and risk reduction
